In 2003, she passed the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) course of study with one of the top three cumulative scores in the country. She achieved additional designation as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) in 2006.

Mary Beth graduated from Dartmouth College in 1983, magna cum laude, with Highest Distinction in Mathematics. Following graduation,  she passed five actuarial exams by the time of her departure from Aetna.

She believes choice in companies and products is the most important aspect of the Independent Agency System. In real estate, Susan has specialized in both residential and commercial property, along with management of properties.

Susan holds a B.A. from Boston College, cum laude and her M.A. from the University of Saint Joseph, summa cum laude. She has served on several boards such as the YMCA, site council at Duffy School, Knight Hall School, Saint Francis Foundation and, most notably, Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance. Susan has been an ardent advocate in the fight against brain cancer after personally overcoming the disease in 2007.

Susan is a notary public and a member of PIA/IIAC Insurance Associations, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors and a teacher union association. She holds a property casualty license, broker real estate license and teacher certificate. Susan’s home support team includes her husband Dave and her three children Andrew, Austin and Emily.

He immerses himself in community and civic organizations, such as The Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance Board of Directors; Past Chairman & Board of Director of the Greater Hartford Salvation Army, Property Committee member; Board of Directors for Catholic Family Services, 2005 Board Member of the Year, 2004-2006 Arch Bishop Whealon Golf Tournament Chairperson; West Hartford Town Council (term ending 11/05); and West Hartford Rotary Active Member.

David holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and moved to Connecticut in 1991 from Wisconsin to work for Cox Communications as a sales manager. He is a dedicated family man who enjoys all his free time with his wife and three children.

He is a graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, where he majored in economics and minored in accounting. He has served on many boards over the years and is still very active in Hartford county. Charles has acted as a general contractor in several projects and is personally an owner of investment income property.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Anselm College and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Tom’s served on several town boards and commissions, including the East Hartford Town Council.  He’s currently on the Board of Education.

She is a fluent Spanish speaker, a notary public and holds both a real estate and property and casualty license. Jaynie focuses on personal lines account management but her property and casualty license allow her to assist customers with other insurance lines offered by Shimkus, Murphy & Lemkuil.

Jennifer is also a notary public and holds a paralegal certification. After more than a decade at Shimkus, Murphy & Lemkuil, Jennifer has come to know our many clients and enjoys helping new ones find fitting and affordable coverage.

Paula has over 15 years of insurance experience in sales and customer service. Paula enjoys building long term relationships with customers and helping them with their insurance needs. Her pastime is cooking and spending time with family and friends.
